Strangers Slept Here

STRANGERS SLEPT HERE
An episodic narrative memoir about hosting strangers — and what happens when you hand over your door codes, your rules, and your sense of control.
About the BookSTRANGERS SLEPT HERE is drawn from twelve years of hosting nearly 1,000 guests across multiple short-term rental properties in the Seattle area — from a mid-century lakeside home to a downtown Seattle condo to a remote mountain A-frame near Mount Rainier.
What began as a practical way to hold onto a lake house after a divorce became something I never planned for: a front-row seat to human behavior. People act differently in spaces that aren't theirs. They negotiate rules they already agreed to. They make themselves at home in someone else's home. The stories range from laugh-out-loud funny to genuinely moving to unsettling — sometimes all three in the same stay.
I'm still actively hosting. The stories are still coming.
